Why: I am going on this trip because I like to travel. While in high school I had the opportunity to go to Australia, Italy, and Greece. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to travel until this trip. I am also particularly interested in this time period in United States history and I look forward to meeting with individuals who had an impact in changing history.

Why: The civil rights movement is such an influential and vital part of our history, especially since it can still be a struggle in today’s generation. It is because of this, that I wanted to take the travel study option for 2 of my Paralegal prerequisites, I feel as though, visiting the places effected by the civil rights movements, and meeting veterans of the movement will offer a better and more experiential learning experience than just reading a couple of chapters, watching some videos, and listening to a lecture.
